Good afternoon, CodeRVA Families-
It is hard to believe we are closing out the 2025-26 school year. At our Awards Assemblies yesterday we had the students sit in alphabetical order to show them what it will be like at Graduation in 2027, 2028, and 2029. For all our first time high school parents out there, it goes quicker than you realize!
Before we get to next year though, here is a reminder about our Summer Session 2026:
-
If your student needs to attend our Summer Session to recover credit for a course not passed during the school year, you should expect an email June 3 with your student’s schedule. As soon as grades are finalized on Monday, June 1, Dr. Harmon and our School Counseling team will work to finalize Summer Session schedules and update families (although Summer Session should not be a surprise based on students’ academic performance this school year.). Please see the Summer 2026 – Visual Schedule for an idea of when classes will be offered, and refer to previous Raptor Rundowns for more details. Do not hesitate to reach out to your student’s School Counselor with additional questions!
Also, from last week, please see the information below if your student has medicine in our school’s Clinic:
-
If you have medicines here in our clinic and your student is not returning to CodeRVA, please plan to pick them up before June 25. Starting June 1, we move to our summer hours and are open Monday-Thursday 7 AM-5 PM. (Please note our school is closed on June 18 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.) After June 25 we will discard any remaining medications for students who are not returning.
-
If you have medicine on site and your student is returning, we will be happy to store the medicine here for next school year. If there is medicine on site that is expiring over the summer, Nurse Crowder will contact your family directly to find out if you want us to discard it or if you want to come and pick it up.
-
All families must complete a new medication administration form for 2026-27 though even if your medications remain on site. We must have this form completed annually.
-
If you have any medication or Clinic-related questions, please give Nurse Crowder a call at 968-1823.
Since we are thinking ahead to next year and the Class of 2027, attention Rising Seniors! As you may know, SAT scores are often required for college admissions and can help show colleges that you are prepared to be successful in higher education. At CodeRVA, we test in-house and cover the cost of the SAT during both your Sophomore and Junior year to give you the best chance of success. However, if you missed the test date or if you would like to try again, you can still sign up to take the SAT test with an independent testing center at your own expense. SAT registration is now open for fall 2026 for those who are interested. To prepare, there are free practice resources available at this link, which now include small-group tutoring.
We have been overwhelmed with requests for our retired laptops, so we have pulled out a few more devices that are being offered for a different donation amount. Please check out the message below in case you are interested in one of these devices.
-
We are offering a limited quantity of RETIRED laptops in exchange for a $200 donation to the school (cash or checks made to CodeRVA Regional High School will be accepted). The devices are Dell Latitude 5520 and 5530 models that include 8GB RAM; 235GB storage; i5 processor; 15.6″ LCD screens; and a fresh Windows 11 Pro OS install. The purchase also includes a charging cord. Devices no longer have a manufacturer warranty and will not be supported by CodeRVA technology staff once purchased. Devices will be wiped and all software will be removed except for software that is included in a Windows 11 Pro OS installation. Requests will be processed in the order in which they were received.
Many thanks to Mr. Ludlow and Mr. Draper for offering this next opportunity. This is the first time we have been able to offer this, and I cannot guarantee it will happen again. Our yearbook vendor made a generous donation to our school, which has made this possible.
-
If your student did not order a Yearbook due to temporary or ongoing financial challenges, please email our Executive Director Dr. Kume Goranson directly no later than June 4 at 5 PM at kume.goranson@coderva.org so you can be entered into a drawing for a free Yearbook. Selected students and their families will be notified the week of June 8 so you can either pick up your Yearbook this summer or we will distribute it to your student on the first day of school. We have a limited number of copies, so please be aware not all students will win.
That is it for today and this year, Raptors! Please note The Raptor Rundown will be on vacation next week, so do not expect an email until June 9. In that edition we will send out the recordings of the End of the Year Awards Assemblies for those families who were not able to watch in real time.
Thank you, CodeRVA families, for partnering with us this year! If your student is returning to their home zoned high school or another placement, we wish you all the best. For those students returning in the fall, let’s plan now to make 2026-27 the best year yet!

Attention Class of 2027! Please be aware all 12th graders must show proof of two doses of Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine: one dose before age 16 and one dose at age 16 or older. If a student did not receive a single dose before age 16, one dose given at age 16 or older is fine. Families can send a printed or scanned copy of the student’s shot record to cindy.crowder@coderva.org or send in a copy with the student. The deadline for submitting this information is August 20, but don’t wait if you have this information on hand now. Students will not be able to attend school in the fall without verification of this immunization. If you have questions or need additional assistance, please call Nurse Crowder at 968-1823 or email her at the address above.
