Good afternoon, CodeRVA Families-

This email is the only thing standing between you and Spring Break, so I will keep things short and sweet today!

First, today is the deadline for ordering a Yearbook!  Please don’t forget if you would like your student to have one for the Yearbook Signing Party in May!

  • 2026 Yearbook Orders: Order your 2026 yearbook online 8/13/25-3/27/26 at yearbookordercenter.com (school code: 17686). Yearbooks are $30. All orders will be distributed to students at CodeRVA on May 14.

Next, here is an opportunity your student may be interested in for this spring:

  • We’re currently recruiting high school students for our TEEM program, a 4-week cybersecurity experience where students complete guided coursework while being mentored by college students studying cybersecurity at partner universities.  The program is designed to be engaging and accessible, giving students early exposure to cybersecurity while connecting them with near-peer mentors who are actively pursuing the field.

  • Student Benefits:

    • $50 stipend to all students who complete the program

    • Earn an industry-recognized certificate

    • Build confidence and career readiness

    • Learn what college is really like from a current student

    • Just 45 minutes per week for 4 weeks

  • You can learn more here: https://www.cteworkforce.com/cte-teem-program-two

As promised, this email is a brief one.  I hope all our Raptor families have a safe, restful, and fun Spring Break so that our students return on April 6 ready to learn and finish the 2025-26 school year well.  Please be aware our offices will close promptly at 3:30 PM today, which is just a little early so our staff can get on the road for their travels.  We will return to checking our emails and voicemails at 8 AM on April 6.

Greetings from the Mary and Frances Youth Center!  On Sunday, May 3rd from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. we will be hosting a Community Health Fair and Field Day. We will have lots of fun activities on the Cary St. Field including a dunk tank and 40′ inflatable obstacle course!  We will also have a variety of community partners and VCU partners hosting tables to share health and wellness information.  The event is FREE for everyone.   Food trucks will be onsite and there is a cost associated with the food.  We hope your friends and family will attend the event!

The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), in partnership with the VCU Center on Transition Innovation and Reynolds Community College, will host a Statewide Transition Fair for students with disabilities on May 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This event is open to students in public school divisions supported by the Virginia Department of Education and Level Up Virginia.  The Transition Fair will provide students with the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from colleges, training programs, community organizations, and agencies offering postsecondary education and transition-related services. Exhibitors will host vendor tables, share information about available programs, and help students explore pathways aligned with their goals.
