Good afternoon, CodeRVA Families-

Today is our last day of Summer Session 2025, which is the official, official end of the 2024-25 school year!  It’s hard to believe our Raptors will be back on campus in just a month.  We look forward to seeing them again on August 18!

As a reminder, our policy on cell phones is changing for the 2025-26 school year.  As shared before, students will not be able to use their phones between 8:50 AM-2:56 PM daily.  Stay tuned for more detailed guidance in the coming weeks.

We only have a few items for you this week before you head out into your weekend.

First, here is an opportunity recently shared with us:

  • Families are invited to “I Am Born to Build Wealth” on Saturday, July 26, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Black History Museum & Cultural Center of Virginia. Designed for youth ages 5–16, this free event offers fun, age-based financial literacy activities covering saving, budgeting, entrepreneurship, and more. In partnership with Virginia Credit Union, each child will receive $25 to start a savings account. Don’t miss this hands-on opportunity to build money smarts and inspire future wealth building.  Click here for more information!

For all our students whose home zoned high school is Varina, you may want to check out this updated information about their field hockey program.

All families who want to pay their 2025-26 school fees in person with cash or a check made payable to CodeRVA Regional High School can do so this year on August 13 4-6:30 PM here at CodeRVA.  We will also have computers set up so you can pay online in person if you would like, but please note the company that Henrico County uses to host our fee system does charge a fee for paying online.  (That fee does not go to CodeRVA and is typically 3-5% of the total cost of your fees.)  You are also (of course) welcome to pay online after August 13 from the comfort of your home and are not required to pay fees in person.  11th and 12th grade students taking Dual Enrollment courses should wait until August 13 or after to pay their fees once they receive their new schedule for 2025-26.  All families can check here for a complete listing of student fees by grade level and pathway.

We encourage you to stop by our PTSA membership table and join for the year if you do come in to pay your fees.  Some of our amazing PTSA volunteers will be on site to answer any questions you have about our PTSA.

Please note no tours will be given during this event, and no student devices will be distributed.  Current CodeRVA students already have their devices (which they should bring fully-charged on August 18 when they return) and new 9th graders will receive their devices the following day at Ninth Grade Academy.

Ninth grade families are also welcome to pay their fees after Ninth Grade Academy concludes on Thursday, August 14.  If you are picking up your student you are welcome to pay fees between 3-3:30 PM here at CodeRVA.

That is it for today, Raptors!  I hope you have had a fun summer despite the crazy weather we’ve had recently.  Have a great weekend, and stay safe!

Reminders for any student taking a course through Virtual Virginia in 2025-26:

  • All world language courses taken through Virtual Virginia will begin on Thursday, August 14. Before courses begin, make sure your Virtual VA student account is set up and ready to use. VVA will send an email to your CodeRVA account that will contain your username and instructions on setting up your password if you are a new user or a returning student who does not remember your password. If you have any issues accessing your account, please email VVA at support@virtualva.org

  • Each VVA instructor will host a Course Orientation Session to help you get started in your VVA course on the first day of class. Each course instructor will send an email with a meeting link for the Course Welcome Session.

School Counselors:

Special Education Case Managers for Students with IEPs, 504s, or EL services:

After July 17 our teaching and counseling staff will not be in the building (but the 7 of us lucky employees who work 12 months a year will be here), so if you have a time-sensitive question, please contact our main email: info@coderva.org so we can assist you.  All CodeRVA staff will return on August 11.

Attention all Seniors in the Class of 2026!  Here is all the information you need about Senior portraits, quotes, Yearbooks and more!

All 12th graders must show proof of two doses of Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine: one dose before age 16 and one dose at age 16 or older. If a student did not receive a single dose before age 16, one dose given at age 16 or older is fine.  Families can send a printed or scanned copy of the student’s shot record to cindy.crowder@coderva.org or send in a copy with the student.  The deadline for submitting this information is August 15th, but don’t wait if you have this information on hand now.  Students will not be able to attend school in the fall without verification of this immunization.  If you have questions or need additional assistance, please call Nurse Crowder at 968-1823 or email her at the address above.
