Good afternoon, CodeRVA Families-
We are about to turn the calendar page to March, and that means we have less than one week left in Marking Period 4. Please take a moment this weekend to speak with your student about their grades. On Thursday we sent another reminder about our Summer Session options for credit recovery, but we always prefer to have students pass during the regular school year rather than joining us for remediation time during the summer.
As we close out February, we would like to share a sample of the slides your students have been seeing during Raptor Rotation to celebrate Black History Month. Thank you to our Computer Science Honor Society members who researched and created these slides!
Also looking ahead to March, here are some key dates all our families will want to mark on the calendar!
-
Here is one last reminder that on Friday, March 6, 2026, CodeRVA will be administering a free SAT test to all 11th grade students. The SAT will be administered digitally, so please remind your student to bring their laptop fully charged on test day and that they must arrive on time. Students who arrive after 9:00 AM will not be allowed to take the test.
-
Ninth, tenth and twelfth grade students should not report to the building on March 6 due to testing space constraints, but they will be expected to work on assignments at home.
-
Transportation will be provided for 11th grade students like a regular school day; however, you are welcome to pick up your student after the test is finished. If you still have questions about the SAT, check out this Student Guide that details ways to prepare for the test, what it is like, scoring, and more!
Attention Families of 9th grade students! Here is an early reminder that on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, CodeRVA will be administering the Writing LPA to all 9th grade students.
-
On Tuesday March 10th during rotations 1 and 2, ninth graders at CodeRVA Regional High School will sit for their Writing Performance Based Assessment. This is the first of three parts required to complete this assessment that happens in 9th grade, while the second and third parts are taken in tenth grade. For students who are absent on March 10, a make-up day is scheduled for March 12th.
-
This assessment will be used as part of students’ writing portfolios that will serve as their End of Course (EOC) Writing SOL, and upon their successful completion, will result in a verified credit in writing, which is required for graduation. Our students have been working hard over the past several weeks to prepare for this assessment, and we are confident that they will be successful!
Attention Senior Class of 2026!

Graduation Session is approaching and the time to begin preparing is now. Herff Jones is our vendor for ordering your cap and gown. If you have not had an opportunity to order your cap and gown, please do so by March 30, 2026. Here is the link to order: Cap and Gown: Herff Jones – CodeRVA
-
Herff Jones will be at CodeRVA on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 to distribute caps and gowns. As caps and gowns arrive, please do not decorate caps or add to gowns. Only standard caps and gowns will be permitted during the Graduation ceremony. Please try on your gown to make sure it fits. If there is a sizing issue, please work directly with the Herff Jones representatives to get the correct sized gown. Herff Jones is mailing graduation announcements to homes of students. If you do not receive announcements within the week, please inform Ms. Heath (lindsay.heath@coderva.org).

Just come to the Parham Road Campus from 6-8 pm on March 4. There will be lots of fun activities, including robotics demonstrations and the weirdest goldfish you have ever seen! You can walk through the engineering lab, too. In past years, they have had many different chemistry and physics demonstrations.
