Good afternoon, CodeRVA Families-
All our new ninth grade families should be getting this communication directly this week. We have rolled over our student information system to the new school year as we count down the days until our Raptors return. Welcome to CodeRVA, Class of 2029!
Our teachers and staff are returning on Monday, so please note we will be moving to our regular school hours (Monday-Friday; 8 AM-4 PM) with some adjustments due to a variety of meetings and activities. No CodeRVA staff will be available after noon on Monday August 11 as we will all be off site for an activity. We will also be closing to the public on Friday August 15 at 3 PM, and there will not be a Raptor Rundown on this date. Everything you need to know for the start of school should be included here. #fingerscrossed Please do continue to check your email though because we will be sending out student schedules on August 12 (or before) and Dr. Harmon will pass along any transportation related information she has received from your home school divisions. However, you may want to go ahead and contact your home school division as they are the best source for transportation-related details.
Again this week we have lots of important information to pass along. All of this is information that has been sent previously, but there may be families out there living in denial that school is starting, so we will be over-sharing today as you work through your feelings.
First, you can always access our current school year calendar here on our website. Don’t forget the first day of school for all students is August 18.
Below are our finalized cell phone procedures for the 2025-26 school year, and I ask that all families make sure their students understand the expectations before school begins. Thank you!
-
If a teacher sees a student with a cell phone (or tablet or gaming device) in the classroom or open space, the teacher will ask the student to put the item away until an administrator arrives to collect it.
-
If the student fails to follow the teacher’s directions, this will be noted in the disciplinary paperwork for the situation.
-
Families will be contacted in each instance a student has a cell phone or other device taken.
-
All confiscated devices will be returned to students at the conclusion of the school day.
-
In the unlikely instance a student fails to give a device to an administrator, the student will be removed from the class and the parent notified. Additional disciplinary consequences, including In-School Detention, may be implemented.
All families must fill out this form no later than August 29. Not sure if you filled it in already? Please check with us via email at info@coderva.org or call us at 804-968-1820 rather than filling out the form twice. Also, if you live in a home with multiple adults who all love to fill out electronic forms, please try and only have one adult fill the form out for each student you have at CodeRVA. Please note that students will not be able to buy tickets for Homecoming (scheduled for October 17; Save the Date!) until this form is completed.
Our Student Supply List can be found here on our website in case you are heading out to buy supplies this weekend.
Please note all CodeRVA students receive free breakfast and lunch daily. There is no need to provide any paperwork to receive these meals. Here is a document that may be helpful if you want to provide your student with money for additional snacks via the cafeteria’s a la carte menu. If your student has a food allergy and needs breakfast or lunch menu modifications, please let us know at info@coderva.org and we will forward your request on to our cafeteria manager.
Attention families of the Class of 2026! If you have not completed the task below, your student will be isolated in the Clinic on August 18 until we can verify your information. Please help us to not disrupt your student’s first day of Senior year!
-
All 12th graders must show proof of two doses of Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine: one dose before age 16 and one dose at age 16 or older. If a student did not receive a single dose before age 16, one dose given at age 16 or older is fine. Families can send a printed or scanned copy of the student’s shot record to cindy.crowder@coderva.org or send in a copy with the student. The deadline for submitting this information is August 15th, but don’t wait if you have this information on hand now. Students will not be able to attend school in the fall without verification of this immunization. If you have questions or need additional assistance, please call Nurse Crowder at 968-1823 or email her at the address above.
Attention all families! Next week is our after school fee paying event for those families who prefer to pay their fees in person. Please check out the information below.
-
All families who want to pay their 2025-26 school fees in person with cash or a check made payable to CodeRVA Regional High School can do so this year on August 13 4-6:30 PM here at CodeRVA. We will also have computers set up so you can pay online in person if you would like, but please note the company that Henrico County uses to host our fee system does charge a fee for paying online. (That fee does not go to CodeRVA and is typically 3-5% of the total cost of your fees.) You are also (of course) welcome to pay online after August 13 from the comfort of your home and are not required to pay fees in person. 11th and 12th grade students taking Dual Enrollment courses should wait until August 13 or after to pay their fees once they receive their new schedule for 2025-26. All families can check here for a complete listing of student fees by grade level and pathway.
-
We encourage you to stop by our PTSA membership table and join for the year if you do come in to pay your fees. Some of our amazing PTSA volunteers will be on site to answer any questions you have about our PTSA.
-
Please note no tours will be given during this event, and no student devices will be distributed. Current 11th and 12th grade CodeRVA students already have their devices (which they should bring fully-charged on August 18 when they return) and new 9th graders will receive their devices the following day at Ninth Grade Academy. Current 10th grade CodeRVA students will receive their new laptops on August 18.
-
Ninth grade families are also welcome to pay their fees after Ninth Grade Academy concludes on Thursday, August 14. If you are picking up your student you are welcome to pay fees between 3-3:30 PM here at CodeRVA.
Here is one last reminder for any student taking a course through Virtual Virginia in 2025-26:
-
All world language courses taken through Virtual Virginia will begin on Thursday, August 14. Before courses begin, make sure your Virtual VA student account is set up and ready to use. VVA will send an email to your CodeRVA account that will contain your username and instructions on setting up your password if you are a new user or a returning student who does not remember your password. If you have any issues accessing your account, please email VVA at support@virtualva.org
-
Each VVA instructor will host a Course Orientation Session to help you get started in your VVA course on the first day of class. Each course instructor will send an email with a meeting link for the Course Welcome Session.
Attention Families of Juniors and Seniors! We are sharing the following scheduling updates for the 2025-26 school year. Most of the information below is the same as what was shared at the end of last school year, but some updates have been added. Please read the information below carefully.
-
All 11th grade students on the Associate Degree pathway will no longer have any gaps in their schedules during the school year as previous cohorts experienced. These students should plan to attend all marking periods of the 2025-26 school year. One programming change is that these students’ CodeRVA Physics class will move to an asynchronous format for Marking Period 3, BUT students will still be taking courses on campus during what we are referring to as their “J Term”. This year’s J Term will include two courses: MUS 121: Music and Society and HIS 121: US History. Students will have one class in the morning and a second class in the afternoon. Students will have time during Raptor Rotation to continue working on their CodeRVA Physics class and other online classes as applicable.
-
All 11th grade students taking Dual Enrollment classes through the Classic + DE pathway should plan to attend in person during all marking periods as well. These students will no longer have any significant gaps in their schedules during the school year as previous cohorts experienced. If any programming gaps exist, they will be brief, during the school day, and students will remain on campus and have time to complete work for any course in which they are enrolled.
-
11th grade students who recently transitioned from the Associate Degree pathway over the summer but remain in Dual Enrollment courses (there are only 11 students in this group) will take one course during Marking Period 3 in their J Term: HIS 121: US History. Their CodeRVA Physics class will move to an asynchronous format for only MP3 and students will have time during Raptor Rotation to continue working on their CodeRVA Physics class and other online classes as applicable.
-
All 11th grade students not enrolled in any Dual Enrollment courses should plan to attend in person through Friday, May 29, 2026.
-
All 12th grade students on the Associate Degree pathway should plan to attend in person all marking periods through the end of Marking Period 5 (4/15/26). At the conclusion of MP5, students on the Associate Degree will have completed all requirements for their high school diploma and Associate Degree (unless they are completing a World Language course during their 12th grade year). These students should not plan to attend classes after MP5 concludes.
-
All 12th grade students taking Dual Enrollment classes through J. Sargeant Reynolds who are not on the Associate Degree pathway should plan to attend in person through Friday, May 8, 2026. Following the conclusion of their Dual Enrollment courses on April 15, 2026, there may be an option to arrive late or leave early if they have transportation available. More details will be shared during the spring about this possible option.
-
All 12th grade students on the Web Design pathway should plan to attend in person through Friday, May 8. Following the conclusion of their Web Design courses on April 15, students will be given the option to arrive at the beginning of Rotation 3 if they have transportation available. More details will be shared during the spring about the late arrival option. Students that do not arrive late during this time will be assigned to a specific location to complete work.
-
All 12th grade students not enrolled in any Dual Enrollment courses should plan to attend in person through Friday, May 8, 2026.
That is quite enough for today, Raptors! I hope you have a great weekend, and we look forward to seeing all our students bright and early on August 18!
