Good afternoon, CodeRVA Families-
Our teachers returned to campus this week, and we are so excited to see all our students back at CodeRVA on August 24! Please note we will be working next week, but our building is closed to the public on Friday August 21. If you need to contact us, please do so before then!
First up this week, if you missed last week’s Raptor Rundown, please be sure to check out our Reminders section at the end of this email so you can see the highlights.
Speaking of last week, we apologize for the incorrect YMCA link added in for our 9th and 10th grade students enrolled in Health/Physical Education. You can access the correct link here, and if you are still having trouble with enrollment, please contact the YMCA directly.

Richmond Community Rowing is a Richmond-based nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that the sport of rowing is accessible to all members of the community, irrespective of their background, ability, or prior experience. Practice is held from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Thursday at Rocketts Landing, near the boathouse (under the restaurant). While no previous experience is necessary, participants must meet a minimum height and weight of 5 feet and 100 pounds, and they are required to pass a swim proficiency test. Although RCR provides all necessary equipment and coaching staff, we currently do not provide transportation. We are open to discussing potential carpool or busing arrangements. Seasonal membership is priced at $325; however, we offer full scholarships upon request to ensure that financial constraints are not a barrier to participation. The next opportunity for new members to join would be before the fall season, which begins October 19, 2026. We invite all interested parties to attend one of our Try-It Days to experience what a typical practice is like, meet the team and coaches, and ask questions. Try-Its will be held at the boathouse in Rocketts Landing from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM on September 7 and October 16. Registration for the fall season is available through our website, and the season will run for 6 weeks, ending on November 25, 2026.

Please be aware all 12th graders must show proof of two doses of Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine: one dose before age 16 and one dose at age 16 or older. If a student did not receive a single dose before age 16, one dose given at age 16 or older is fine. Families can send a printed or scanned copy of the student’s shot record to cindy.crowder@coderva.org or send in a copy with the student. The deadline for submitting this information is August 20, but don’t wait if you have this information on hand now. Students will not be able to attend school in the fall without verification of this immunization. If you have questions or need additional assistance, please call Nurse Crowder at 968-1823 or email her at the address above.
