Good afternoon, CodeRVA Families-

What a week!  Thank you for your patience with this week’s inclement weather situation.  Although our school is about as modern as they come in many ways, we still rely on old-fashioned phone calls and texts from our partner divisions to come to a consensus when making a decision to close.  Having our third largest school partner cancel school just before 8 AM on Wednesday was an unusual situation, and we responded as quickly as possible.  However, it seems there was a glitch with our messaging system on Wednesday though as some families received the email, phone call, and text that were sent, but some only received the email or just the email and phone call.  As a reminder, if at any point our automated messages are blocked either on purpose or on accident, we will no longer contact you via that method.  On Fridays all families should receive The Raptor Rundown via their MAIN email and phone number for their student and an alert text.  If you are not receiving these communications, please let us know at info@coderva.org and we will research your individual situation.

As a follow up from last week, we wanted to share the slide that was reviewed with all students on January 21 when we returned to school, and we have continued to remind students of our new cell phone expectations as we settle into Marking Period 4.  Please continue to reinforce these expectations with your student, and do not hesitate to contact your student’s individual teachers if you have questions about specific guidelines for their classroom.

Here is another reminder from last week about an important event happening next week!

  • On Tuesday, January 28, please join our school counseling team for a virtual event: Getting Ready for Life After High School.
