Special Education

CodeRVA‘s Special Education Team collaborates with each enrolled student’s home-zoned high school case manager to create an Individualized Education Plan that provides accommodations and supports in the general education setting. CodeRVA‘s emphasis on personalized instruction for all students in small group settings are unique to our blended learning environment.  If your student is accepted to CodeRVA, we will work with your family and home-zoned high school to support your student’s learning needs.  We look forward to partnering with you, and if you have additional questions, please contact us at info@coderva.org

Annually VDOE is required to prepare and distribute to local school boards information describing educational and other services available to students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or visually impaired. School boards are required to post this information on school division websites annually and to inform the parents of students who are identified as deaf, hard of hearing, or visually impaired of the availability of such services.

The VDOE’s Annual Resources Update for Serving Students with Sensory Disabilities is a compilation of the required guidance documents and additional resources available through the VDOE’s Sensory Disabilities webpage.

In accordance with § 22.1-217.01 (Special education transition; identification of faculty member responsible for school transition and planning coordination), each public high school in the Commonwealth shall publicly identify on its official website the faculty member responsible for special education transition planning and coordination at such high school. For questions related to special education transition, please contact our Associate Principal Mrs. Rebecca Harmon at 804-968-1820.
